"Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places]" Ephesians 1:20.
When you and I read these last verses in chapter 1, I believe that we can receive great joy in meditating on them. It's true of all God's Word, but in this section, there is such an amazing sequence of events to reflect upon. I've learned too, in my life, that when I need a hug from God... I need only to squeeze His Word for all that is within.
One thing helpful is to consider that since we will live in the spirit realm, we ought to pay more attention to the little pictures God gives us of things happening "on the other side" of life. And so, Paul's description of the events we read now, we consider as literal and just as real as two people here getting married... or, the birth of a baby, a graduation ceremony, a music rehearsal, etc,.
With the "eyes of our heart", Paul spoke of in verse 18, can we imagine the scene... as Paul pulls the curtain open, just enough for us to see. "Jesus" returning from our dirty, broken, physical realm... Having born all iniquity... Now back to the realm He had come from... back to His place beside God! And having finished the one major step in God's plan, which many observed and bore witness to... What was continuing on in the spirit realm that we could not see?
His Return To Heaven
Is it no wonder the earth was shook with such a wave,
that dead were raised from beneath the grave.
That day when God provided His sacrifice,
a day when Love would pay it's greatest price.
For until that day when on the cross He'd hung,
no greater song had all of heaven sung.
Returning back from where He came,
received He then His Precious Name.
"The Lamb of God" whom they had slain,
rejoiced the heavens for what was gain.
Could not the whole expanse absorb,
The great triumph made for so small an orb.
For all the heavens dance and sing,
returned He then the King of kings.

Yes, what Christ did at Calvary was the greatest expression of God's love... one of "the key elements" of the plans which God has set... But what happened and is still happening now on the invisible side of reality is so important to visualize as something which affects us, here... Right now.
Paul shows us, in verse 20, that with Calvary behind them, God exerted the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in Christ... He gave Christ the distinguish seat, to His right, beside Him... and there is more, as Paul continues which all relates to the perception we should have of our physical world.
Let's pick up with Ephesians verse 1:21-23 and finish chapter 1 next time.
I love you.
