Ephesians 5:21

"Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)." Ephesians 5:21

This word "subject"... I think first, is an image of Christ Himself! For one thing... He was subject first to God and to God's purpose for sending Him. In a sense, it means that you and I were the subject of God's sending Himself here in the embodiment of Christ, and now He asks that we subject ourselves to one another our of reverence to Christ.

A military term, the word subject means to align (put) ones self "under" another... out of an allegiance to... open to inspection... and to subordinate yourself under another's authority. This is important in not only combat, but in the general administration of government affairs. In the Kingdom of God (The Army of God), it is just this same way... we are in a battle of life and death and we "subject" ourselves unto one another, NOT ONLY BECAUSE HE ASKS, BUT THAT WE TRUST THE PURPOSE INTENDED FOR DOING IT. AMEN?

Now... we can do this just because God says to... that is wonderful! We can do this out of faith... but because you have joined sides with God, you are in His Army, and the longer you are in this Army, you WILL see why this "being subject" unto one another is so critical to the battle... ok? Later, we will come to this word again as it applies to the structure of the family, but we will not forget that we have ALL been asked to do this unto one another! Amen? Very important!

Let's pick up with Ephesians verse 5:22 next time.

I love you.
