Ephesians 5:8

"For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light]." Ephesians 5:8

Here, in context to us not associating with the lost (some more obvious than others), Paul is reminding us of the position the unsaved have with darkness, all that is wicked and set to be dealt with at judgment. In darkness, someone may believe that they know what they are doing, yet, in truth, they can't see just how terrible the evil they serve really is. And too, in darkness, someone believes no one can see what they are doing, yet God sees all things. Paul is reminding us that we have come out... actually, we've been brought out from the darkness and into the light, the truth, the way that is narrow.

Paul continues that we therefore, walk as children of Light... lead the lives of those native-born to the Light. The word Light is capitalized because it is a name for Christ... He is the Light. We are His children, thus we are called "Children Of The Light"! We can see what we are doing because of Christ's Word, which is a light unto or path... we are able to see our way because the truth of God's Word has revealed the darkness... Praise God.

Let's pick up with Ephesians verse 5:9 next time.

I love you.
