James 1:22‏

"But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]." James 1:22‏

Doers of the Word... remember, James asked us to draw in close to God, to... "be quick to listen"... "slow to speak"... to hear what God says. When reading God's Word... that means to hush our thoughts, also. Listening to what He says. Now, comes that moment when having "allowed" the POWER that His Word has within us to change our perception of the world around us, was so important... because we've got to do what "He" says now. Not a part of it, or something like it. It's time to act on His Word.

Our "being quite"... and listening earnestly was important because notice James adds, "betraying yourselves into deception"... HOW... "by reasoning contrary to the Truth."

And so, now having the complete Truth operating within, it's time to act on it. That means...

When God say's to count it complete Joy when trials come into our life (vs 2), then, we can count...

When God say's to let endurance and steadfastness and patience do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing (vs 4), then, we can...

When God say's to get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness (vs 21), then, we know we can... you get the idea here.

James has much more to say along this thought, later, but we must see the importance of sticking very closely to what God really is saying and not mixing some of it in with old sayings, false teachings, half-truths, and all-out lies, in order to be Doers of the Word!

My thoughts they wander up into the skies,
in my hope to see You, I close my eyes.

Your Word still fresh upon my heart,
this world I am not afraid to depart.

Timeless, hushed, where only light I see,
for now I guess this is as close as I'll be.

But I'll come back again in hopes to find,
that no longer this world I'll be confined.
