John 14:27

"Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

Fear is like a cankerworm that feeds off a tree until it sucks the life out of it. Fear can start out small, but if left to grow, will suck out the very life of a believer. It's nature is lack of trust, lack of trust that God has you safely in the palm of His hand and is in control. When we trust in Him...He will wipe away your tears, and give you a divine courage to face every fear! He will restore what the cankerworm has devoured and bring life to a dying tree.

"And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you." Joel 2:25

Heavenly Father, We worship and praise you and seek your face. Hear our prayer, O Lord, let our cry for help come to you. You calm our fears. You have brought us to this point in life, and you know what lies ahead. Whatever that is, You promise to use it for our ultimate good. Help us rest in that assurance. Take each of our fears and help us look at them in light of You. You're so much bigger than anything that troubles our hearts. Show us how to comfort and encourage one another during difficult times. Teach us how to trust you more. We ask all these things in the name of your son, Jesus the Christ. Amen
