did they slip on off to see Him ever more?
When they made-em was it He that they adore...
did they know it was for them His stripes He bore?

Who made the sandals Jesus wore...
had He waited for-em right outside the door?
Where He was going He'd not wear-em anymore...
for their sins He went to settle one last score.

As they pulled the strands of leather to secure,
could they feel the tug at heart from His implore.
