And He came and preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off and [peace] to those who were near." Ephesians 2:17
Too often we find religious writings and hear preaching centered around hell's fire and damnation. Jesus had some harsh things to say, Himself... but, Jesus never taught without giving us "The Good News". I've said this before... "If there is nothing good in your message... How can you say you're spreading The Good News?"
Yes, we walk through the valley of death... but, we also shall fear no evil. Yes, the devil has been given rule over the earth... but if you resist him, he will flee. Yes, if you do not turn from your sins you will die an eternal death... but, dear friend, the hour of salvation is right now!
God wants to reconcile man back unto Himself so much, no matter what he has done, and He has provided the simplest way (for us, anyway) to restore our relationship to Him. Whatever man claims to be his "ministry", if it is truly from God, it should be GOOD NEWS! We better move on...
Notice too, Jesus preached peace to both, those far off and those near. We should never package the Word of God to manipulate the audience toward something we see with our eyes or reason outside of the heart.
The message to give, repent, put on the armor of God, etc., etc... should be preached by the leading of The Holy Spirit and nothing less! No one knows the audience better than Jesus, yet He preached the same truth to all.
Let's pick up with Ephesians verse 2:18 next time.
I love you.
